This quilt took me a very long time to finally complete.  It was for my first grandchild and he eventually received it on his tenth birthday! Each panel a labour of love. The panels are patch-worked and appliqued and some finished with hand embroidery.

My favourite panel is the ship on the ocean wave. Patchwork, applique and hand embroidery. On reflection I would have used a different coloured fabric for the sashing but this was my first quilt and inevitable that design mistakes are made.

The peacock was stitched using a mix of cotton and synthetic threads.
